#Back Surgery and Problems.
Towards the middle of my 28th year I had terrible lower back pain that shot down through both my legs, this was the first time I had experienced back pain and oh did it hurt. I found out that I had a broken vertibrae, second stage spondylolisthesis. I was told that if I left things as they were I ran the risk of losing control of my bladder, bowels and possible paralysis which was pretty frightening. After waiting 18 months I had a spinal fusion to 4 of my vertibrae. The operation was successful but it did take me 3 months to walk again and a further 2 years to regain confidence in my body again. Although the long term effects of this are recurring neck and shoulder pains due to the lack of elasticity in my lower back, overall it was successful. It may be possible that the lesions from MS were already there, but if they were?, no one spotted them.(Update) I have since been back to my orthopaedic consultant to have a further look at the MRI scans which were taken, but because of the angle of the scans it is impossible to tell. So this will remain a mistery.

Dental Amalgam Fillings
At the age of 12 I had 4 amalgam fillings fitted (badly and all at once) to my molars. At 17 years old I had all 4 replaced and a further 3 fitted.I have just recently completed the procedure of having these fillings removed and replaced with a composite filling that does not effect me.

Fainting spells
From the ages of about 8 thorugh to 19 years I suffered with fainting spells particularly in warm shops or shops with flourescent lighting. I still feel uncomfortable with this type of lighting, but fortunately I haven't fainted since I was 19 years old
